Delaware County, offering an eclectic mix of
communities, borders the western edge of Philadelphia and
extends southwest to the Delaware line, west to Chester County,
and north to Montgomery County. The county contains many historically
significant sites and properties, including handsome homes,
some of which were originally the summer homes of wealthy
city residents (and many of which have been converted into
lovely apartments). Outlying communities range from semi-urban
to semi-rural and contain a mix of housing options to suit
every taste and budget as well as a large variety of cultural,
shopping, dining and entertainment venues. A large portion
of the county contains an extensive network of rail/bus service,
and Philadephia International Airport and arteries such as
I-95, Route 3, and the Blue Route (476) provide easy access
to the Philadelphia region and beyond.
