Established in 1685, Southampton is one of the earliest townships in Bucks County. It’s named after the English port from which William Penn’s followers sailed to join him in the new state. For most of its history it was a farming community, but the advent of the railroad in 1870 brought a new influx of people to the area. The township grew rapidly through the years, but it has still maintained its small town charm and friendliness.
